ROTARIANS AND GUESTS  - YES THIS IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Yes, it seems terribly early to be planning an autumn dinner - but these ones sell out well in advance, so we wanted to get the word out early!  (Case in point:  we had planned this for September and the date is already filled.)

On Friday, October 16th we travel to the region of Umbria in Italy.  This dinner is a large family-style service, held at the Massimo lofts on King Street East.  It's a BYOB supper club.

Massimo Bruno is a popular Italian chef, teacher, tour guide and media personality who was raised in the Southern Italian region of Puglia before emigrating to Toronto in 2001, where he lives today with his wife and daughter.  Always an engaging character, this is what he has to say about the Supper Club:

"The supper club is my baby!  I have been hosting it at my kitchen studio since 2005.  Every event has a theme, like the typical food of one of Italy’s many regions, a typical Italian holiday, or the al fresco supper club in the summer.  Guests sit together at a long harvest table for 30 people.  Everyone brings a bottle of their favourite vino and we always serve “family style” because sharing the experience is what authentic Italian food is all about.  I am very passionate and curious by nature, and love sharing what I know, so I always give a little presentation during the meal and there’s lots of discussion throughout the evening about all things Italian."

I've been several times, and always had fun.  This is set to be another smashing Fellowship dinner!  Cost is $108 which includes all food, gratuity and taxes.  You bring your own alcoholic drinks.  (Note that due to the nature of a supper club - none can be sold on site.)

To sign up for this exciting culinary excursion, do so directly through the Massimo Bruno website.  There is no registration through the Rotary office, and all tickets are sold online.  And once they're gone - they're gone.
