YOUTH AND CHILDREN’S SERVICES COMMITTEE

The Mandate of the YCSC is to support the needs of children and youth in the community. The committee supports programs that focus in the areas of health, education, child abuse and neglect, social development and life enrichment.

CENTENNIAL PROJECT - CENTRE FOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

In 1968 RCT started YES, at that time the first youth employment centre in Canada. Today, it remains the most experienced and the largest.
The Rotary Club of Toronto Centre for Youth Empowerment will house the Job Camp program. This program was in jeopardy due to severe government funding cuts. Job Camp is a one-of-a-kind, intensive program for disadvantaged youth aged 15-30. Job Camp features counselor support, job placement, workshops, meals, TTC, mock wages. It helps the most disadvantaged and at-risk youth to find jobs, training, or return to school.

Our $100K project covers costs to maintain direct program coordination, workshops, food program and more, enabling this vital resource to remain viable for the near future.
