Canada’s Election: Where We’ve Been and Where We’re Going” - In the Upper Canada Room

Three days before election day on October 19, 2015 after one of the longest campaigns in Canadian history we are pleased to welcome to Rotary Professor Nelson Wiseman to make sense of it all.  Nelson Wiseman is a Professor in the Department of Political Science and Director of the Canadian Studies Program at the University of Toronto.  His most recent book is The Public Intellectual in Canada.   He has appeared as an invited witness at the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee, the Standing Committee of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and the House of Commons Procedure and House Affairs Committee.  He authored an invited brief on Canada’s fixed election date laws for the United Kingdom’s House of Lords.  He fields inquiries from various local, national and international media on Canadian politics and is a columnist for the Hill Times, Canada’s politics and government news weekly.   He is one of Canada’s foremost experts in Canadian government, political parties and leaders and provincial politics as well as frequently providing commentary for several media outlets.
