Lessons in Partnership:What Winston Churchill and Charles de Gaulle Taught Us About Working Together

Ray Argyle is the author of five books, the most recent of which is The Paris Game, which describes the Liberation of Paris and France which marks its 70th Anniversary this year and was the turning point of the War. His other books include Turning Points, the Boy in the Picture, Scott Joplin and the Age of Ragtime, and Joey Smallwood, Schemer or Dreamer.

He is also a contributor to the National Post, Canada’s History and Readers Digest. Ray grew up in British Columbia and entered journalism straight from high school.  At the age of 21 he was editor of a chain of 35 weekly newspapers in Alberta.  He then became Bureau Chief for Western Canada of United Press International.  As a young reporter he cut his teeth in the political world covering the careers of Tommy Douglas, Ernest Manning and W.A.C. Bennett. 

Later Ray worked for the old Toronto Telegram where he had the responsibility for the Telegram Syndicate and for Inland Publishing, a group of suburban papers across the GTA.  Ray then moved into public relations and founded Argyle Communications, a company that is today part of Environics Group.  His many assignments include Trustee of the McMichael Collection and he has served on the Toronto District School Board as well as having an active interest in politics.  Ray lives in Kingston where he continues to write and handle assignments for Queen’s University.
