Alain Bartleman is a lawyer who represents First Nations Governments and individuals.
 
A  member of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation, Alain was most recently part of the legal team for Attawapiskat First Nation in the closure of the Victor diamond mine. He maintains a busy practice in Rama centering around constitutional litigation and governance.

He also  maintains a pro bono practice that sees him serving on the board of Native Child and Family Services of Toronto and on the fundraising board of the Anishnawbe Health Foundation.
 
His father the Hon James Bartleman was the  first Indigenous Governor General  of Ontario. James Bartleman  spoke to our club twice and was instrumental in the creation of our Indigenous Services Committee and of HIP (Honouring Indigenous Peoples) a Canada wide Rotary /Indigenous partnership
 
In his spare time Alain is a runner and Avid Reader.  He is delighted and honoured to be speaking to our Club.
