Ian Urquhart is a well-known and respected journalist whose insider views of the political world have been widely read for more than thirty years. Ian graduated from McGill in 1970 and is a former City
Hall reporter, Ottawa reporter, Ottawa Bureau Chief, National Editor, Managing Editor and Editorial Page Editor for the Toronto Star. He was Ottawa correspondent and Washington correspondent for
Macleans magazine. He is best known for his long running columns about Queen’s Park which were featured in the Toronto Star after he succeeded Rosemary Speirs in 1986. Recently his columns in
the Toronto Star have described the realities of the current federal election campaign which evoked the following response; “He was and is an evocation of some of the best of the Star’s rich history of
quality journalism”
