President Kevin Power's COVID-19 MESSAGE
Dear Fellow Rotarians and Rotaract, Please see the most recent message below from President Kevin Power
"Our hearts and thoughts are with those who have been affected by this global pandemic. It is important that we each do our part to flatten the curve and minimize the impact on our community.
The Rotary Club of Toronto will continue to practice social distancing. We have cancelled our regular lunch meetings up to April 10th and have now cancelled the April 17th lunch in person. Given the uncertainty and need to avoid large gatherings, I anticipate we will need to cancel further in person Friday lunch meetings.
Our committees have moved to Google Meet for online meetings and it has been very successful.
The Program Committee is exploring virtual Rotary lunch meetings and we will be moving to virtual Rotary lunch meetings in the short term. We will have our first virtual lunch meeting at 12:15 pm on Friday, April 3rd through Google Hangouts. More details will follow on how you can connect to the meeting.
The Fellowship and Entertainment committee is also planning virtual events. Our first Fellowship and Entertainment event will be a Virtual Cocktail Party. More details will follow. The Club Board and Executive Committee have been very busy and are now meeting online every second week to ensure the Club remains vibrant and relevant during these uncertain times. The Board has reached out to our philanthropic committees to explore the needs in our community and how we can assist and make an impact in our community. The pandemic has severely impacted the disadvantaged and marginalized in our community, including the homeless, those in shelters, and those facing financial hardships. More details will follow.
While the Rotary office remains closed you may still reach Carol at: office@rotarytoronto.com or Belli at: accounts@rotarytoronto.com or by telephone 416-363-0604 (and leave a message and they will call you back) or you can reach out to myself or any of the executive or board members.
Keep safe,
Kevin Power
President, The Rotary Club of Toronto"
