Born in Orilla, raised in Oshawa, Anna now calls Port Hope home. She is retired from a 30 year career with General Motors and now spends much of her time volunteering.
Anna became a Silver Cross Mother November 21 2014 when her son, Craftsman Kyle Sinclair died in a training accident at CFB Petawawa. She subsequently lost her youngest son Evan to suicide six years later.
Anna has since committed her life to helping Veterans. Her work covers a broad range of issues from Mental Health, Housing, Music, Families and even the maintaining and cleaning up of The Highway for Heroes.
Anna has served on The Board of Directors for Canadian Heroes Foundation since 2016, serves as a Board member for Veterans Bridging Homes Canada, volunteers for VETS Canada, Guitars For Vets, as well as helping clean parts of The Highway For Heroes. Every July and October a day is set aside for a special Clean up of the 4 ramps of the Highway of Heroes in Port hope named in honour of her son, Craftsman Kyle Sinclair.
Derek Moore Provincial President Ontario Command
Derek Moore was born in Darlington, England, immigrated to Canada in 1974, became a Canadian citizen in 1978 and immediately joined The Royal Canadian Legion.
Derek is semi-retired driving a school bus. Derek was a Produce Manager in the Grocery Retail Trade for over 27 years as well as Head Custodian with the Wellington County Separate School Board for several years.
Derek joined as an Associate Member as his father served in the RCAF during WW II, both Grandfathers served during WWI, Derek was a good dart player and thought there would be great comradeship.
Derek was President of Mount Forest Branch 134, (2000 – 2002), Chair of the Veterans Banner Program, President of the Dart League, and held many other Chairs throughout the years. At Zone he was Zone C-3 Commander and prior to that held Seniors, Membership and Youth Education Chairs for Zone. His District duties included District C Commander (2013 – 2015), ABC Tri-District Hospital Committee (2011 – 2017) for District C.
Derek was elected Vice President of Ontario Command, serving two terms (2015 – 2019) became 1st Vice President (2019 -2022), better known as the “Covid Term”. As a Provincial Senior Elected Officer, he held Youth Education, Bursary, Track & Field, Membership, Cadet Liaison Chairs and was active in Charitable Foundation, Property and Homeless Veteran Programs.
When elected, Provincial President (2022), Derek became a member of Dominion Executive Council, is Vice Chair of Poppy and Remembrance Committee and a member of the Dominion Membership Committee.
Over the years Derek has been awarded the Government of Canada Certificate of Appreciation Branch Volunteer (2003), and a Life Membership (2009).
Derek still volunteers in his community and is a Founding Member & current Member of the Mount Forest Heritage Society. He is also a member of the Royal British Legion Branch 1264 Darlington, England.
In his spare time, he enjoys watching Football (Soccer), playing the Drums and darts. Derek and Patricia (Trish) were married in 1981. They have two children, and he is a proud Granddad to 5 Grandchildren.
